In 1971, gospel singer Trevor Dandy released the soulful "Is There Any Love?" While it may not sound like your stereotypical gospel track at first, it still has a powerful message to deliver.
I first heard this song after looking up the sample from Kid Cudi's "Is There Any Love?" featuring Wale from his classic mixtape A Kid Named Cudi. The alternative rock group Monsters of Folk also sampled it in "Dear God (Sincerely M.O.F.)", which was later recorded with the Roots in "Dear God 2.0."
